TEXT: Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Here are some facts about the Bible:

•   The Bible was written by 40 authors over 1,600 years in various countries and cultures, yet each book fits in harmony!

•   The Bible was written by kings, fishermen, poets, teachers, prophets, government officials, doctors, and the underprivileged.

•   The Bible contains some of the oldest and most reliable records of ancient history. Time and again, its narratives have been shown to contain a remarkably accurate account of people, places, and events in the ancient ages.

Validity

The Iliad, a Greek poem by Homer, was written in roughly 630 BC and has 600 existing copies from the original. The New Testament alone has over 6,000 surviving manuscript copies. The New Testament is assumed to have a 99.5% accuracy due to the vast amount of manuscripts we have. Plus, our manuscripts were written 65-150 years after the original writing.

No one refutes the writings of Plato, but we only have 7 copies of his manuscripts, written 1200 years later.

Aristotle: 8 copies written 1400 years later.

Caesar: 10 copies written 900 years later.

Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
