Stay in the Word
We are 3-part beings - Body, Soul & Spirit 
Genesis 2:7
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (NKJV)
Bodies - relate to God in creation
Spirits - from God and are created to relate to Him. 
Soul – the eternal part of us. Our thoughts, our will, and our emotions. 

MADE ALIVE

Ephesians 2:1 
And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, (NKJV)
John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (NKJV)
Mind - what we think
Will - what we desire

REASONS TO STAY IN THE WORD 

3 reasons why we should “Stay in the Word”:
1)   The soul is selfish
Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind… (NKJV 
John 17:17 
Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. (NKJV)

2) The soul must submit to the spirit

Psalm 131:2
Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, Like a weaned child with his mother; Like a weaned child is my soul within me. (NKJV)

They think that you are trying to kill them
You’ve got to kill the will, the thoughts and the emotions of the soul.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (NKJV)

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (NKJV)
Greek word for open is trachelizo.
Definition of “trachelizo”: to bend back the neck of a victim to be slain, to expose the gullet of a victim for killing. 
God wants to kill what’s killing you!
