INTRODUCTION

  • Omnipresence
  • Manifest presence of God

Psalm 139:7

Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? (NKJV)

HIS PRESENCE

God’s manifest presence

Genesis 3:8

And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. (NKJV)

Exodus 33:14-15

And He said, ā€œMy Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.ā€ 15 Then he said to Him, ā€œIf Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. (NKJV)

We can leave God’s presence

Genesis 4:16

Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden. (NKJV)

Jonah 1:1

Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2 ā€œArise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.ā€ 3 But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. (NKJV)

How do you leave God’s presence? Just don’t do what He told you to do.

You can be present and not be in a person’s presence.

We can enter God’s presence

Psalm 95:1-2

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. (NKJV)

Psalm 100:1-2

Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. (NKJV)

You don't have to be a singer or a musician to worship God through musical worship!

APPLICATION

Lamentations 3:22-23

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. (NKJV)

CONCLUSION

We’re going to have good days and we are going to have bad days, but I’d rather have them both with Jesus, than without Him!
