The Blood & The Fountain 1.jpg

SCRIPTURE

Matthew 27:27-31
Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around Him. And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head. And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.

Matthew 27:24-25
When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of thisjust Person. You see to it.” And all the people answered and said, “His blood
be on us and on our children.”

Isaiah 53:3,5
He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

SYNOPSIS

This Passion Week message traces the final, agonizing hours of Jesus’ journey between Gethsemane and Calvary. where He was betrayed, falsely accused, and viciously scourged. Through every strike, every wound, and every drop of blood, Jesus willingly bore the weight of our sin—fulfilling prophecy and revealing the depths of God’s redemptive love. Though the crowd cried, “His blood be on us,” their curse became our greatest hope. The Lamb of God was not overpowered—He offered Himself willingly as the perfect sacrifice. His blood was not spilled by chance; it was shed by choice, to save you and me.
