The Effects of Easter.png

INTRODUCTION

James 1:22
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only… (NKJV)
“[It is] the devil’s principle deceitful tactic which makes so many Christians satisfied with an Easter celebration instead of demonstrating the power of Christ’s resurrection.” – A.W. Tozer

THE EFFECTS OF EASTER

1 Peter 1:3.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (NKJV)
1. We should be born again
1 Corinthians 15:14
And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. (NKJV)
John 3:3
“…unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (NKJV)
John 3:5
“…unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” (NKJV)
2. We should be focused on the eternal and not the temporal
1 Peter 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, (NKJV)
3. We should trust our future to Jesus and not worry about His ability to fulfill His promise
1 Peter 1:4-5
…an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (NKJV)
4. We should be people of gladness and joy
1 Peter 1:6
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, (NKJV)
1 Peter 1:7-8
that the genuineness of you faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen, you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, (NKJV)
